Early adventures ages 2 ½ to 4
In January 2010 Taverham Hall School Nursery was inspected and the overall effectiveness of the Early Years Foundation Stage provision at Taverham Hall School was rated as ‘outstanding’.
In addition, the school was visited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate team in November 2010 who concurs with the Ofsted report and also found the quality and provision in the EYFS to be ‘outstanding‘.
Taverham Hall Nursery is a happy full-time pre-school for two to four year olds open all year apart from Bank Holidays and the Christmas period. It’s action packed and full of challenging, stimulating and fun activities, to satisfy the most inquisitive of minds.
As part of Taverham Hall Preparatory School, the nursery programme is structured around the ability, personality and interests of each child. At Taverham Nursery, everyone gets lots of individual attention.
Reading, maths, geography and history are just some of the subjects introduced, using fun and creative teaching methods. Creative and physical development are also central to our programme with children finding music, dance, drama and art and craft activities a great way to express themselves. Computer skills are also developed early – resulting in some pretty impressive results!
Every activity is designed to build confidence, stretch imaginations and guide children gently into the wonderful world of learning.
By the time our nursery children enter Taverham Hall Pre-Prep they are confident learners who are ready to take on new challenges with energy and enthusiasm.
Purpose built facilities
Taverham Hall’s purpose-built Nursery rooms provide a child-friendly environment, specific to Early Learning needs. Situated within the extensive grounds of Taverham Hall, children enjoy year-round access to the sports hall and have their very own area to explore in our beautiful woodland. Under careful supervision in our Forest School programme, children tend their own planting beds, learn all about the great outdoors and hunt for all of the minibeasts in it.

Onwards and upwards
The proximity of the Nursery facilities to the Pre-Prep and Prep schools makes the transition into the next stage easy. With nursery children joining older pupils in the main school hall for a cooked lunch everyday, all children benefit from interacting with other age groups. Meals are prepared and cooked in school by our own catering team, so every meal is guaranteed to be nutritionally balanced and delicious. View a sample menu.
Our full-time Nursery is open from 0820 – 1530 but also offers the option of an extended day for your child until 1700 hours. This extended day provides the perfect opportunity to try something new and offers working parents the convenience of a later pick up time. A light well-balanced tea is provided if your child is staying till the end of the day. Nutritious sandwiches, on white or brown bread, are served with a choice of fillings. Fruit is also on offer, together with a choice of milk, squash or water.

Government inspections and regular lesson observations ensure high standards are always maintained and result in consistent praise for the Early Years teaching at Taverham Hall School.
